Occasionally, bleachers have a thin plastic cap that is installed over the wood bleachers.  Some people think the plastic cap keeps wood from breaking.  They are wrong.  This cap can conceal dangerously broken boards.  Schools want to remedy that and be good stewards for their district.  They save money and are environmentally friendly when they decide, instead of buying new bleachers, to remove the splintered caps and replace all the boards to make a like-new bleacher installation.  The glu-laminated southern yellow pine bleacher boards that we use surpass all industry standards and are a very renewable resoource.
